Amateur radio in West Sussex - Training, Exams, Contests and Special Event Stations

Weekly Bulletin – June 14 2018

WADARC meets at – Lions Hall, 21 Roberts Road, Lancing. BN15 8AR.

THE PAST WEEK

Report from Roger, G7VBR:
The outdoor event organised by Alex on Wednesday 13th was quite well attended with chat and some radio activity. Chris M0VUE was unable to make it at the last moment due to work commitments so activity was down to Phil G4UDU, Alex 2E0UMD, Roger G7VBR, George G0UCF and Edmund M0MNG with a selection of wire, whip antennas and handhelds. Edmund used his handies to work 17 stations with 2 via a repeater. He also tried 4m which was ‘quiet’ but 10m offered an Italian and a Slovakian station but unfortunately neither heard him.
Also appearing were Bodie 2E0VRM on 2 wheels, Roger G4TNT, Ian M0IAD, Vic G8MUQ, George’s XYL Isabel and Demelza M3DKX. There was a flow of members during the evening with some arriving early until the wind turned cold and those remaining went home. An enjoyable evening in the fresh air with excellent company.

Sorry I couldn’t make it but was not long out of hospital and not quite up to it. I did manage to work GX1WOR on 2 metres from home.
