Special Event Stations

May – our first special event station of the year is usually at the High Salvington Windmill with the callsign GB0HSM. This windmill is just above Worthing and it will be open for tours throughout the afternoon on the Sunday. Many other mills around the world will be on the air for this event and we try to contact as many of them as possible.

July – the next special event station will be at the Worthing Fire Station Open Day, where we operate as GB0WFB. Our station will be located in the school field behind the fire station at the base of the training tower. This event is always lots of fun for all the family.

August – the Selsey Lifeboat special event station GB4SLB is a Saturday and Sunday event that is normally held at the beginning of August. It started a few years ago to mark 150 years of a Lifeboat Station at Selsey and we have been invited back each year on the weekend of their fundraising week. Sunday is launch day plus there’s a funfair and other attractions that take place out on the sea.

August – later in the month (the 3rd weekend) we usually take part in the International Lighthouse and Lightship event. We try to make contact with as many other Lighthouse and Lightship stations as possible. Our station GB8SL is based at Shoreham Lighthouse.

The exact dates of the events can be found on the What’s On page.
