THE PAST WEEK
The Santa Claus 80 metre net went well, with 11 members taking part and one who called very quickly, then disappeared, so we still don’t know who that was. Conditions were really good and despite the usual high noise floor, nearly everyone could hear everyone else. Thanks to Phil, G4UDU for acting as net controller and to all who took part.
The Christmas Day 2 metre net was a little slow getting started, but the end total of all taking part was 14 which shows that there is activity on 2 metres if it can be dragged out of the woodwork! Thanks to all who took part in sending Christmas greetings.
As there will be no meeting on Wednesday 2nd January and in view of the success of the Santa Claus net, there will be an 80 metre net for club members on 3.712MHz starting at 8.00pm.
Please also note that I will not be running the 2 metre Monday net on 31st December, but if anyone else wants to run a net on 145.425MHz FM, please feel free.
Graham, G4FNL is organising our 70th anniversary special event station and there will be a meeting for those involved on Thursday 3rd January at The Crabtree Inn, 140 Crabtree Lane, Lancing, BN15 9NQ at 7.30pm
Wednesday 9th January will be the LAST meeting at Lions Hall, we will then be moving our evening to TUESDAYS, commencing 15th January at TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing.
