Weekly Bulletin – September 1 2019

WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD

THE PAST WEEK

Monday evening saw a busier than usual 2 metre net, with more stations on the air than usual. Just goes to prove that many members do have the necessary equipment, but don’t always seem inclined to use it (or lose it)!!!

The foxhunt went ahead as planned last Tuesday, with Dorian, 2E0FSI as the Fox. There were only two club members chasing the fox – Roger, G7VBR and Ian, M0IAD who was the winner for this event. The fox was located near Dogs Trust at Shoreham, which is probably why those of us at TS Vanguard found reception poor to non-existent. We rally do need a collinear at the club QTH!

This coming Tuesday will be a discussion evening to decide where the Club is going and what kind of programme members want for the coming months. Please try to get along and join in. It’s your chance to help YOUR club and contribute to an ideas pool, to include items of interest to YOU.

FINALÉ

FWIW VHF/UHF conditions have been in the past week. Ed, M0MNG reported a 70cm FM contact from Worthing to Herne Bay using relatively low power and another contact across the channel, using low power PMR.
That said, 40 metres was also very lively on Thursday morning, but unfortunately there were no WADARC members on the air to take advantage of it! I now wonder if it’s worth running the 40 metre net if nobody can be bothered to join in???
