Amateur radio in West Sussex - Training, Exams, Contests and Special Event Stations

WEEKLY BULLETIN May 5 2017

WADARC News

A summary of what is happening at the club – opinions and comments are those of the writer and not necessarily official policy

Here is the latest update, Phil G4UDU

This week:

Meeting on the 3rd was a general chat evening, plus Alan G4GNX organised a general tidying process to sort the books and paperwork plus some surplus items in the kitchen cupboards so that the “Tea Apparatus” could be stored

Graham G4FNL is in the last few days of his DX’Pedition to Botswana A25UK – they continue to be active on all of the bands using CW SSB & DATA – they obviously have a low noise threshold as it is amazing how they can be worked even if signals seem to be very low, they are leaving Saturday morning.

This is Graham’s first full blown operation of this type, he has experience of running and winning various contests and operating on special stations but this will be different in many ways. I hope he can put an overview of the event into a talk for us one evening at the club.

Club Programme:

Well this seems to be missing out on both content and speakers planned for meetings, it is not a particularly difficult task –  I have arranged this before and consider “I have done my time” spanning many years and it is down to some other members to step forward and put some input into the club. – If there is someone who wants assistance doing this, I will help.

7th May Sunday breakfast at the Lancing Harvester at 0900

10th May DVD Evening – Change from the published event

13th/14th Mills on the air at High Salvington – there should be both VHF and HF
stations operational – setup is from 0830 on the Saturday morning – I will be
there, help is always appreciated. Please come along and operate.

17th May Practical Evening – Workshop demonstration – who is organising ?

24th May Dinner at the Old Tollgate Bramber – this is a special evening to remember Bryan G3GVB who always enjoyed this type of event – please book your place with the online webpage at : http://doodle.com/poll/k6pt3298kc3t6385

31st May DF Fox Hunt on 70cms ? Confirmation to follow.

Here are the details of the programme for other clubs in the area – they have active programmes – I would like to see the same at WADARC – can the membership comment if there is anything interesting they would like put on the WADARC calendar – if so I am sure this can be arranged.
