Weekly Bulletin – June 1 2018

WADARC meets at – Lions Hall, 21 Roberts Road, Lancing. BN15 8AR.

THE PAST WEEK

Last Wednesday was our 1st Foxhunt of the year, with Chris, M0VUE and Phil, G4UDU taking it in turns to be the Fox. They were parked at the public weighbridge on the A27 by Shoreham Airport and Dorian – 2E0FSI was the winner being first to find the Fox by DF alone. Others who took part were Ian – M0IAD with Alex – 2E0UMD and Ray – M6IKO in one vehicle and Roger – G4TNT with Vic – G8MUQ in another vehicle. About 8 members listened-in from Lions Hall. I listened from home on a handheld and realised that the Fox couldn’t be too far away and once the clues were given I was able to work out the location. Interestingly the signal was almost unreadable with my aerial vertical, so I had to turn it horizontal to be able to hear their transmissions. I’m assured that the Fox antenna was vertically polarised.
