Amateur radio in West Sussex - Training, Exams, Contests and Special Event Stations

Weekly Bulletin – July 7 2019

WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD

THE PAST WEEK

Chris, M0-VUE gave an excellent talk and demonstration of building antenna parts using 3D printing techniques and the Fusion 360 CAD package. Some subjects covered were choice of materials and their properties, consideration of how the printer will construct a part when there’s apparently nothing to support it and methods of putting parts together, including use of Super Glue.

Conditions on 2 metres and 70 cms continued to be favourable last week with French beacons in particular being audible for many hours. VHF Field Day seems to have been popular too, as I worked one French station with a serial number over 400!

FINALÉ

We are that time again when donations of biscuits for club meetings would be much appreciated. If you can’t bring some yourself, please ask another member to deliver them for you. For those not aware, there’s a convenience store on the North end of the shopping parade opposite TS Vanguard and they sell biscuits!
