WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD
THE PAST WEEK
Another great talk was given by Ray, G4XUZ on the life and inventions of Charles Wheatstone. Most of us will have heard of the Wheatstone Bridge, but I’m guessing that many of us didn’t know of his other numerous inventions. As for Ray, I don’t think anyone in WADARC realised what a talent there is in their midst, on the Concertina (another of Wheatstone’s inventions). Ray gave us an entertaining talk, accompanied by the best in British music.
Both our Treasurer and our Membership Secretary have pointed out that several members have not re-joined the club, by paying their annual subscription. Most of these are probably an oversight, but you really do need to get your sub up to date NOW. There will be a very exciting announcement at the AGM and I’m sure you will not want to miss out, because you are no longer a member. If anyone is suffering hardship, please send me a private email and I’ll try to help, with utmost confidentiality.
This Tuesday’s meeting is Quiz Night. I’ve heard that at least one member feels that they may make a fool of themselves by being unable to answer questions. There is no need to feel awkward – we’ll make it a self-checking event, with scores for your personal satisfaction.
The following Tuesday’s meeting has been changed from a tea and chat to a talk by Dave Jackson (one of the Sea Cadets organisers) who will be talking on some of what the Sea Cadets do and their involvement in radio. There will also be some interaction between us, where suggestions will be put forward for possible interaction between WADARC and the Sea Cadets for transmitting and receiving.

FINALÉ
Please remember that the annual remembrance parade takes place in Worthing on Sunday 10th November. If you are physically able to a marshalling stint that morning, please consider doing so, as we really do need marshals and it’s one of the justifications for keeping GB3WO on Council property.

Alan. G4GNX
