Weekly Bulletin – October 13 2019

WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD

THE PAST WEEK

Unfortunately last Tuesday turned out to be a non-quiz!!! Bob, G3VXJ and Phil, G4UDU put a lot of work into compiling a “quiz for everyone”, despite Phil being out of the country for most of the time. ONLY 8 PEOPLE BOTHERED TO TURN UP, so the quiz was abandoned at Phil and Bob’s request, for hopefully another time. I hope that we had just picked a day when several members were either working, on holiday or away on business. Otherwise, I wonder what members actually do want from the Club?

Thanks to Bob and Phil for your work and to the members who did turn up.

OK rant over, but please DO TRY to get to this coming Tuesday’s meeting, which is a talk by Dave Jackson (one of the Sea Cadets organisers) who will be talking on some of what the Sea Cadets do and their involvement in radio. There will also be some interaction between us, where suggestions will be put forward for possible interaction between WADARC and the Sea Cadets for transmitting and receiving. Dave is one of our ‘landlords’ and keen to develop communications between us. Sea Cadets are a possible source of recruits into Amateur Radio and hopefully into WADARC, so please make the effort to attend and support the talk.

FINALÉ

Once again a plea to all able members to volunteer to help marshal the annual remembrance parade in Worthing on Sunday 10th November. It’s only a few hours, once a year and If you are physically able to a marshalling stint that morning, please consider doing so, as we really do need marshals and it’s one of the justifications for keeping GB3WO on Council property.

73,

Alan. G4GNX
