Weekly Bulletin – March 1 2020

THE PAST WEEK

Last Tuesday’s talk by Jonathan, G1EXG was as expected – highly entertaining and informative. We were treated to models of chemical construction and explanations of “Bucky Balls”. There were of course some questions, but I’m not sure that everyone understood the answers! Jonathan had done extensive work on the subject, especially for his PhD, at Sussex University – all clever stuff. There was mention of eating some of the production to perhaps prolong life, cure ills or combat viruses – Hmmmm………..

The Elecraft KPA500 HF Linear kit has duly arrived and the contents checked against the parts lists. All components are present, plus a few ‘spares’ which are provided in case of loss. I will be bringing the kit to TS Vanguard on Tuesday 10th, along with all appropriate tools and instructions. It would be good if some of you who have not built anything before, could turn up and help with some of the construction.

This coming Tuesday (3rd) is a Tea and Chat. We will also be connecting some of the gear in the shack and hopefully some QSOs will ensue.

FINALÉ

More biscuits were donated last week (thanks Ian, M0IAD) but we could still do with some more. C’mon peoples – two or three packets would be well appreciated from any of our members.
