Amateur radio in West Sussex - Training, Exams, Contests and Special Event Stations

Weekly Bulletin – February 9 2020

THE PAST WEEK

Despite not too many people turning up last Tuesday, those who did enjoyed a lively discussion about future equipment in the Club Shack. We took a straw poll and the majority were all for purchasing a Flex 6600 transceiver along with it’s companion Maestro controller. As there is provision for transverters, we will likely add them at a later date. At the following committee meeting, the decision was ratified along with new antennas for HF and VHF/UHF/SHF.

Bryan, G0SIU has now completed the locks on the Tambour Doors, which are now fully lockable allowing us to securely store equipment.

FINALÉ

I do hope that everyone has survived the storm this weekend. I must admit to having luffed my mast to save damage to the VHF antennas, although the winds weren’t as heavy as expected in my area of Shoreham.
