Mixed conditions (both bands and weather) at our first On The Air and Activity weekend however all who attended reported a good time.
The weekend featured a number of HF stations with different antennas including the club’s new Carolina Windom, Buddipoles, Ventennas as well as a doublet made as part of the weekend’s activities, experiments and QSOs also took place on 6m, 2m and 70cm. Activities included WSPR, PSK, CW, Ragchewing, a bit of contact chasing (IARU region 1 contest) as well as a Foundation course Practical Assessment.
A handful of members stayed over 1 or 2 nights and all weekend and more visited over the course of the weekend either just to see what was going on, to operate or test setups and even just for the BBQ and Saturday evening relaxation.
Edmund M0MNG has kindly put together a short video and other members took photos that will undoubtedly appear here and in Ragchew in the future.
Many thanks to Norman 2E0RKO for arranging the venue and to Bodie 2E0VRM and Ian M0RVP for running stations all weekend. Hopefully there will be other events like this in the future.
