WADARC meets at – TS Vanguard, 9a Broadwater Road, Worthing. BN14 8AD
THE PAST WEEK
Our last meeting was a Tea and Chat with usual lively discussion taking place. We decided that we would visit Kithurst Hill (Storrington) this coming Tuesday (13th) for some on-air activity. Whilst members are free to use whichever bands that they wish, please bear in mind that the RSGB run activity nights on Tuesdays and this week’s event is on 70cm. Start time for 70cms FM is 7.00pm and for 70cm SSB it’s 8.00pm. It would be good if we can get a few contacts for the club on 70cms and any other bands that you have equipment for. Roger, G7VBR will be providing tea and coffee, etc., but you MUST bring your own mug if you want any! Please note that if the weather is really bad, we will meet at WADARC QTH (TS Vanguard, Worthing) and an announcement will be made to this effect on the club Announce reflector, possibly at short notice.
Pete, G4LKW gave some details of Lighthouses On The Air, which takes place next Saturday/Sunday (17th/18th). All help for setting up and pulling down will be much appreciated. For setting up, Pete aims to be on site at Shoreham Lighthouse by 2.00pm on Friday 16th. Striking camp usually takes place just after 4.00pm on Sunday. GB8SL will be on-air on Saturday and Sunday and it’s a good chance for members to get on the HF bands with a decent antenna and full legal power.
Most of you should have received an email informing you that WADARC Annual Subscriptions will soon be due. Please consider re-joining – your club needs you!
